Stress is one of those things that can hang over our heads on a day-to-day basis. You just have to sit back and try to breathe and remember things will get better. You may feel like there is little you can do to relieve it but like I said in my previous blog there are ways to help. But this blog is more oriented in how chiropractic can help you deal with stress.
Stress attacks your body in different ways, and it may become difficult to accomplish anything, even daily tasks. From experience, stress makes your mind wonder and breaks up your focus. If the stress even gets worse it can lead to head aches, muscle tension, and even migraines. But there is good news, chiropractors can help you relieve and manage that stress that you are feeling. Here are some ways that chiropractic can help reduce the stress in your life:
Luckily for you, I have already written about nutrition related to stress and ways to handle stress by your self!
As we all know the spine houses the body’s spinal cord and that is connected to everything through nerves. You brain that is connected to the spinal cord which controls everything in from everyday movement to your thought process. When you have a subluxation or movement of a vertebra that puts pressure against the spinal cord not allowing it to function correctly or 100%. This can lead to head aches, muscle tightness and even our not so friendly friend called stress. Visiting a chiropractor for an adjustment on a regular basis can help correct the misaligned vertebra and restore proper function of your body. Like I say to everyone that asks about chiropractic, “Your body is like a car. When something brakes down or needs maintenance you go and get your car serviced. You should do that same thing for your body and make sure your spine is aligned to you can function at the highest level you can”.
Stress can lead to muscle tightness or can tense your muscles. When one is stress a common mechanism for the body is to tighten up. It kind of like your body is trying to protect you. Over time if you don’t seek help this muscle tightness takes a toll on your body hurting the way you walk, your posture and hurting the way you sleep. Which in turn brings more stress on your life. A chiropractor can help loosen the tension of your muscles with adjustments of your spine and other parts of your body. This will help restore normal function of the spine.
Food is one of the bases of maintaining your health. Chiropractors can help counsel you about your nutrition and set up a plan to make it easier for you. If you look back in the other blogs you can find the ins and outs of nutrition to help fight stress!
If you want to try and relieve some stress at home you can look back at a previous blog and read up on some other ways you can reduce stress. I mention a variety of ways one can reduce stress from home, but I still recommend seeing your local chiropractor or coming into Empowered Chiropractic for a consultation.
